Romelu Lukaku was the star of the show for Belgium against Azerbaijan on Sunday, but Leandro Trossard caught the eye too with an excellent performance.

There’s no doubt that Romelu Lukaku was the Man of the Match for Belgium in their European Championship qualifier against Azerbaijan at the weekend, with a four-goal first-half performance to put his team in a commanding position to win the game.
But Arsenal will have been pleased to see Leandro Trossard’s display for the Belgians as well.
Trossard was first heavily involved in a goal that was eventually ruled out by VAR, with his powerful shot turned in on the rebound by Timothy Castagne, only for the officials to spot an offside offence against Lukaku in the build-up.

In the second half, Trossard set up Youri Tielemans to hit the woodwork, and the Arsenal forward eventually got his goal in the dying minutes of the game with a simple finish from the centre of the box after a cutback.
You can watch the goal here or below from 5:10.
Over the course of the match, Trossard had three shots and created four chances, completing four of five attempted dribbles.
Just as eye-catching as his goal was one of those dribbles, as he lifted the ball over a sliding defender, touched the ball on whilst still in the air, then nutmegged another player.

Belgium had already qualified for Euro 2024, but the win secured them the three points they needed to top their qualification group, just one point ahead of Austria.
Trossard is now done for the break, and can return to spend the rest of the week with Arsenal.
