Arsenal are reportedly setting their sights on the summer of 2024 to sign a new marquee striker, with Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic and Brentford’s Ivan Toney identified as prime targets.

This strategic move, as reported by Football Insider, aligns with Mikel Arteta’s desire to strengthen Arsenal’s attack with a physically dominant forward.

Arsenal have reportedly decided to wait until the summer of 2024 to sign a new marquee striker.

This development comes from Football Insider, which also highlighted that Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, is looking to enhance his attacking options with a physically dominant striker.

Two players have been identified as priority targets: Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic and Brentford‘s Ivan Toney.

Vlahovic, previously approached by Arsenal in January 2022, ended up joining Juventus for around £62.8 million.

However, due to Juventus’s financial issues, it’s believed they might have to sell Vlahovic, who is under contract until June 2026.

Toney, on the other hand, is expected to command a significant fee from Brentford, especially as his football ban concludes.

Arsenal’s current forwards, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, have managed five and four goals respectively this season.

This output has led to concerns about the team’s goal-scoring capabilities as they aim to contend for the Premier League title.

As Arsenal prepare for their next match against Brentford, the club’s board, led by Stan Kroenke and his son Josh Kroenke, are reportedly willing to provide financial support for signing a new striker in the summer.

Meanwhile, talks regarding a contract extension for Italy midfielder Jorginho with Arsenal are currently stalled, according to his agent.

Additionally, AC Milan have shown strong interest in Arsenal’s 23-year-old Polish defender Jakub Kiwior, with an approach expected soon.
