Arsenal’s plans for the January transfer window have hit a snag as Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto picked up a hamstring injury in a match against Newcastle United.

Neto, a top target for the North London club, also stated his intent to stay at Wolves until the season’s end.

Arsenal could be reconsidering their plans to sign Pedro Neto in January following recent developments. The Portuguese winger sustained a seemingly serious hamstring injury during Wolverhampton Wanderers’ match against Newcastle United.

During his match against Newcastle United last Saturday, Neto continued his strong start to the season. He set up Wolves’ opening goal, grabbing his seventh assist in 10 games this term.

However, he pulled up mid-sprint and ended up being substituted on a stretcher.

The exact severity of Neto’s injury has yet to be confirmed by Wolves, but based on the stretcher’s usage, it might be a serious one, potentially putting him out of action for up to three months.

On top of the injury, Neto has publicly committed to staying at Wolves until the season ends, causing Arsenal to rethink their transfer strategies.

Previously, Arsenal had been willing to make a financial commitment to secure Neto, even prepared to meet Wolves’ high asking price.

Now, these plans may be on hold.

From Wolves’ perspective, they had no immediate plans to sell Neto. A report from The Telegraph stated that Neto informed Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobbs that he wouldn’t be pushing for a January transfer.
