Wolves’ Pedro Neto won’t push for a transfer in January, despite rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal or elsewhere.

Pedro Neto has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal in recent months, but it seems the Gunners may have to wait to land the winger.

The Telegraph report that Neto recently made a visit to the office of sporting director Matt Hobbs, informing him he wouldn’t push for a transfer in January.

From a Wolves point of view, they have no plans to sell Neto this season.

Though The Telegraph confirm that Arsenal are long-term admirers of Neto, they add that the player is playing down those links.

“I want to say that I am here and I will help everyone,” Neto said. “I love the club and everybody here, I have always felt that it has given a lot to me.

“I’m enjoying the moment here so I will continue to do that. The future and long-term ambitions don’t matter.

“We will never go down in any situation, we are here to win and fight. I feel really good at the moment and hope to continue.”

This follows a recent report from David Ornstein of The Athletic, where he suggested that Arsenal are working on strength in depth on the wings, but there are no guarantees on when that work will come to fruition.

At this stage, Ornstein wrote that there are still a number of factors that could alter whether Arsenal pursue a move for someone like Neto in January or next summer.

With Neto seemingly happy to stay at Wolves for the remainder of the season, the summer looks a better bet at the moment.

The current links to Neto elsewhere in the media are likely more to do with the player’s form at the moment than anything else.

Neto has made a strong start to the season, providing six assists and scoring once in his opening nine games.
