Mike McGrath of the Daily Telegraph reports that Arsenal’s Albert Sambi Lokonga is the subject of a deadline-day loan bid from Luton Town, a move that was later confirmed to Sky Sports by Luton’s director, Gary Sweet

It is believed that Arsenal are happy with the loan proposal and Lokonga is now set to decide on the move.

Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider highlighted that several clubs in England and Europe have been credited with an interest in Lokonga, but it’s Luton who are pushing hardest to seal a deal on the final day.

Earlier this week, reports suggested that Galatasaray had made an attempt to sign the Arsenal midfielder, with talks planned on Thursday. But as it stands, there hasn’t been any update on the status of those conversations.

Lokonga had also been linked with AS Monaco and Burnley earlier in the window.

The move to Burnley seemed to fall apart over personal terms, whilst Monaco made enquiries but never an official bid.

Lokonga had reportedly spoken to Burnley boss Vincent Kompany about a move, and he was expected to play a key role for the side.

But The Athletic then reported that a move was on hold as the newly-promoted club looked to finalise other deals.

After spending last season on loan with Crystal Palace, Lokonga returned to training with Arsenal in early August after an absence during the early stages of pre-season, but he’s often been training away from the main group as he continues to pursue a transfer.
