One of the many Arsenal starters currently dealing with some kind of injury or knock, Bukayo Saka was withdrawn from Sunday’s north London derby after his foot was caught under a challenge.

Football.London report that the winger was in severe pain after the knock, hence his substitution in the dying minutes.

But the good news is that the problem isn’t thought to be anything serious, and Saka is now recovering.

You’d hope the 22-year-old wouldn’t be risked against Brentford on Wednesday, even if he’s fit for the match.

Reports have already suggested the likes of Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard will be held back from the League Cup clash whether they’re fit or not, and Saka should be in the same boat.

There’s little point in risking the England international for a League Cup game, with a Champions League away day in Lens and a home match against Premier League champions Manchester City coming up the following week.

Saka has made a strong start to the season with Arsenal, scoring four and assisting four in his eight games.

That includes a goal and an assist on his Champions League debut, an assist against both Manchester United and Manchester City, and a goal against Tottenham Hotspur. He also forced an own goal off Cristian Romero in the north London derby.

Arsenal fans will hope to see Saka back in action against Bournemouth this weekend.
