In a significant move signalling long-term ambitions, Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to extend manager Mikel Arteta‘s contract.

The talks are apparently progressing well, setting the stage for a solid partnership in the years to come.

After joining Arsenal in 2019 from Manchester City, Mikel Arteta has masterminded a remarkable transformation in the club’s on and off-field affairs.

Guiding Arsenal to a second-place finish in the Premier League for the 2022/23 season, he’s been the key factor in the club’s return to Champions League football after a seven-year absence.

Subsequently, the board is in the process of crafting a new deal for Arteta that could see him earn up to £10 million annually.

This comes after an extension signed in May 2022.

“Sources close to the club suggest that the negotiations are moving in a favourable direction,” stated an insider.

Inclusion of performance-based clauses in the new contract reflect Arsenal’s confidence in Arteta’s capabilities but fans might need to hold off on celebrations as the formal announcement could be postponed until the season’s end.

On the administration side, Edu, the club’s sporting director, recently had his role consolidated, making him a permanent fixture within the Arsenal setup.

With Martin Odegaard’s new deal now confirmed, it is believed that Ben White will be the next player to sign on to an extended deal.
