Fabrizio Romano reports that Nottingham Forest have submitted an offer for Matt Turner.

Talks are advancing with Arsenal over a proposed permanent transfer for the U.S. international, as the Gunners negotiate to sign David Raya from Brentford.

David Ornstein reports that Raya’s potential arrival may depend on Turner leaving, and he confirms that Forest are in talks to sign the goalkeeper.

Though Ornstein adds that the two clubs have different valuations for the 29-year-old, so we’ll have to wait and see whether Forest’s bid bridges that gap.

As it stands, there are no details on exactly how much Forest are offering.

CBS Sports were another outlet to previously confirm that Turner is of interest to Nottingham Forest, and they quoted the goalkeeper talking last month about his desire to be on the pitch more often.

“I learned so much and we won games (last season), but I would have liked to play a little bit more,” Turner said.

“On the personal side, I didn’t hit as many goals as I would have really liked to.”

29-year-old Turner made seven appearances for Arsenal last season, five in the Europa League and two in the FA Cup, with Karl Hein playing in the League Cup.

In the Europa League group stage, Turner appeared to be Mikel Arteta’s preferred choice, but he missed the final couple of games through injury, and then he lost his place for the round-of-16 second leg.

In the league, Ramsdale played every game for Arsenal last season. If Turner wants regular football, Nottingham Forest would probably be the better option.
