Arsenal are in advanced talks for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya while they also try to sort the sale of Matt Turner to Nottingham Forest.

The Telegraph report that Arsenal are currently juggling the departure of Matt Turner to Nottingham Forest and the acquisition of David Raya from Brentford.

The move for Raya is reportedly progressing quickly, with the player making clear his desire to join Arsenal.

As recently as this week, Bayern Munich were still attempting to convince Raya to move to Germany on loan. Brentford were even reportedly open to the possibility, as long as the goalkeeper extended his contract with them first.

But Raya himself pushed to join Arsenal on a permanent basis instead, seemingly killing the Bayern transfer.

As for Turner, Forest and Arsenal are in talks, with the Nottingham-based club hoping to bring in two goalkeepers this summer.

Fabrizio Romano recently broke the news that Forest had submitted their opening offer for Matt Turner.

Talks are advancing with Arsenal over a proposed permanent transfer for the U.S. international, but nothing is agreed yet.

David Ornstein then wrote that Raya’s potential arrival may depend on Turner leaving, as he confirmed that Forest are in talks to sign the goalkeeper.

The two clubs have different valuations for the 29-year-old, so we’ll have to wait and see whether Forest can bridge that gap.

29-year-old Turner made seven appearances for Arsenal last season, five in the Europa League and two in the FA Cup, with Karl Hein playing in the League Cup.

But the Gunners now intend for Raya to compete with Ramsdale for a starting spot instead. The Spaniard made 39 appearances for Brentford last season, keeping 12 clean sheets.
