A number of clubs in the Premier League and La Liga are pursuing a late deal for Arsenal’s Rob Holding this week.

In recent days, Fabrizio Romano reported that Rob Holding was still expected to leave Arsenal before the end of the transfer window, with clubs in Spain interested in a move.

Romano has since elaborated that La Liga sides RCD Mallorca and Sevilla are among the clubs to ask for the conditions of a potential deal.

The journalist also confirmed that there are Premier League clubs being kept abreast of developments.

According to Football Insider and the Evening Standard, Wolves and Crystal Palace are among those Premier League clubs interested in a deal.

The Standard add that Luton Town are looking at a loan move for the centre-back, though Ryan Taylor of the Express casts doubt on those claims.

Taylor points out that Luton are set to fill their two Premier League loan spots once Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden joins Manchester City’s Issa Kabore at the club, which wouldn’t leave any space for a loan for Holding.

But that wouldn’t stop Luton signing Holding on a permanent deal, if that’s what they wanted to do.

Holding made 24 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season, but he’s yet to make it onto the pitch for a competitive game in 2023/24.

Earlier in the window, David Ornstein broke the news that Besiktas had submitted an offer to sign Holding worth €2.5m (£2.14m), but that was far below what Arsenal might consider to sell the defender.

Arsenal rejected the bid, with Holding still having a year left on his contract and an option to extend to 2025.

With all the reports of interest from England and Spain, you’d think the Gunners could find another buyer before the deadline on Friday.
