This move comes after Tavares’s anticipated transfer to Nottingham Forest did not materialise, despite reports that Forest were ready to offer £30m for him, presenting an opportunity for the Midlands-based club.

Aston Villa’s recent 4-0 victory over Everton has certainly added to their momentum, and the inclusion of Tavares might just bolster their squad even more.

At 23, Tavares has shown promise and potential, qualities that Villa seems keen to tap into.

Speaking about the potential move, an insider told Mail Sport, “Tavares’s move to Nottingham Forest falling through might just be a blessing in disguise for both him and Aston Villa.”

In addition to their interest in Tavares, Villa’s manager Unai Emery seems to be broadening his horizons by also considering players from LaLiga.

Notably, the club has shown interest in Sevilla’s defender Marcos Acuna. The 31-year-old Argentinian, who played in Sevilla’s recent UEFA Supercup match against Manchester City, could be another valuable addition to the Villa side, especially given his experience.

However, Acuna’s transition to Premier League would be a new venture, having never played in the league before.

On the other side of the spectrum, Lucas Digne, the current Villa full-back, might be heading to Ligue 1.

French team Nice, managed by Didier Digard, have reportedly approached Aston Villa with an offer for the 30-year-old.

The potential move would see Digne return to his native country, a transition that might appeal to the player.
