Emile Smith Rowe has returned to training with Arsenal, following his summer exploits winning the u21 European Championship with England.

Emile Smith Rowe spent much of the summer break away with the England u21s, with the side going all the way to beat Spain in the European Championship final on July 8th – just two weeks ago.

But almost immediately after the tournament, reports broke that Smith Rowe would join up with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad for the pre-season tour of the USA, earlier than many expected.

Arsenal confirmed that Smith Rowe would join up with the squad this week, and the player promptly rejoined training on Friday.

Smith Rowe featured in every England game at the u21 European Championship, starting three matches and coming off the bench in the other three.

He scored twice and assisted once as England went on to lift the trophy, adding another winner’s medal to the one he received at the u17 World Cup a few years earlier.

But the Arsenal academy graduate is clearly keen to carry that momentum back to his club football now, so he’s wasted no time at getting back involved.

Nuno Tavares was also involved in the u21 European Championship, but he’s seemingly set for a little more time off.

Tavares played a full season with Marseille, whilst Smith Rowe was out injured for large portions of Arsenal’s 2022/23 campaign. So he’s probably more in need of the holiday.
