Though recent reports had suggested Brighton’s Moises Caicedo was primarily a target for Chelsea and Arsenal this summer, it seems Bundesliga club Bayern Munich are also in the running, whilst Arsenal are withdrawing their interest.

Florian Plettenberg reports that Caicedo remains on Bayern’s shortlist for the summer window as an option in a defensive midfield role, with Brighton aware of Bayern’s interest.

Initial talks have taken place, with Bayern monitoring the situation and aware of the competition from England.

The Times then reported that Arsenal have withdrawn their interest, with Chelsea and Manchester United still in the race.

Chris Wheatley recently reported for 3AddedMinutes that Caicedo doesn’t have a fixed preference on which club he joins this summer, though he will leave Brighton.

The midfielder wants to play Champions League football, and none of the clubs in the race have made a formal offer for his services so far.

Charlie Haffenden reports that Caicedo is relaxed and focused on the international break, as he knows Brighton will keep their promise with regards to his exit.

The Telegraph recently claimed that Arsenal remained interested in Caicedo after their January bids were knocked back, and the club were exploring the possibility of bidding for him as well as signing Rice.

They wrote that Caicedo is expected to cost more than £70m, and Chelsea are also pushing for a deal.

But it seems Arsenal are now focusing on other targets.

Fabrizio Romano wrote in recent days that Caicedo hasn’t yet agreed terms with any club, and he’s currently considering his options.

However, he expects to leave Brighton this summer, having agreed with manager Roberto De Zerbi that he could go for a bid of £70-80m.

Caicedo made 43 appearances for Brighton this season, helping them to qualify for European competition for the first time and to reach the FA Cup semi-final.

An Ecuador international, having made his debut as an 18-year-old, the midfielder is already up to 30 appearances for his country.

As mentioned, he’s in their squad for the current international break.
