Sports Zone report that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang isn’t far from agreements with Al-Ahli Saudi FC and Al-Shabab FC over a potential summer move from Chelsea.

The striker is set to leave the London club this summer, and they would like to sell him before June 30th for financial reasons.

Though Aubameyang would be open to another season in Europe, Sports Zone suggest no club has yet expressed a concrete interest in such a move.

Last month, Aubameyang confirmed he’s interested in returning to Barcelona, and Fabrizio Romano added that the striker was “100%” likely to leave Chelsea.

But whilst Barcelona were open to signing him, a move depended on their financial situation.

Romano claimed the only way for Barcelona to bring Aubameyang back would be to sign him on a free transfer with a reduced salary, just a year after selling him for €12m.

Aubameyang got in contact with his old Barcelona teammates and club manager Xavi, making it clear he wants to return and he’s willing to lower his salary.

But Chelsea don’t want to let him go without a fee, a year after paying an eight-digit figure for him.

Aubameyang’s final appearance of the season was against Arsenal, when he suffered the embarrassment of being substituted at half-time after a poor display.

The striker scored just three goals in 2022/23, and it’s little wonder he was keen to go back to Barcelona, where he scored 13 in half a season. A move to Saudi Arabia may prove more realistic.
