William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko are set to join Mohamed Elneny and Takehiro Tomiyasu in missing the rest of the season, according to a report.

David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko have been ruled out for the remainder of Arsenal’s Premier League campaign, though neither are expected to require surgery.

Saliba is still working to recover from his back injury, but it looks as if he won’t manage to do so before the end of the season.

Zinchenko picked up a calf problem in Arsenal’s win over Newcastle United, and he’s also now set to miss the next three games.

Saliba’s continuing absence is unsurprising at this point. Reports had already hinted that his season might be over, and Arsenal have had to adapt to life without him in recent weeks.

Jakub Kiwior was impressive in the wins over Chelsea and Newcastle United, and he’s almost certain to keep his place in the upcoming fixtures against Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and Wolves.

As for the left-back position, Kieran Tierney will come in for Zinchenko, as he did against Newcastle. The Scottish international is basically Arsenal’s only alternative to Zinchenko, and the bench spot may end up being filled by youth left-back Lino Sousa.

Arsenal already had two players sidelined for the season, with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny undergoing surgery on knee injuries earlier this year.

In Elneny’s case, the good news is that he’s returned to the training pitches in recent days.

Arsenal continue to report that Elneny is likely to be out of contention for competitive match action for the final few weeks of the current campaign, but he should be fit in time for pre-season.
