Bukayo Saka has signed his new contract with Arsenal that was agreed in February with the official announcement coming on Tuesday so how long does it last and how much will Saka be paid?

Early on Tuesday, Fabrizio Romano reported that a few months after reaching a verbal agreement on a new contract with Arsenal, Bukayo Saka has now formally signed his long-term deal to stay at the club.

A few hours later, Arsenal made the announcement Arsenal fans had been waiting for.

Saka and Ian Wright were both present at the Emirates Stadium on Monday for the filming of a special media shoot ahead of the announcement.

As per other sources, some promotional footage for the contract had already been shot earlier in May.

About the deal, Mikel Arteta said, “It’s great for the club that Bukayo has extended his contract. Retaining our best young talents is key to our continued progress and Bukayo represents such an important part of our squad now and for the future.

“As well as being a fantastic talent, Bukayo is a special person, he’s loved by us all and he is a credit to himself and his family for the hard work and commitment they have all made to get to this level today.

While Edu added, “It has been so enjoyable to work with everyone to extend Bukayo’s contract. It is a very proud moment for us all at the club, to work hard with Bukayo and experience his great journey from our academy through to our first team.

“Bukayo has now developed into one of the best young players in the game and we’re looking forward to enjoying together this next stage of his career with us.”

Earlier this year, Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail broke the news that Saka had verbally agreed a new deal with Arsenal despite the interest of a number of other top clubs as he played a crucial role in Arsenal’s bid for the Premier League title this season.

The new contract will see him earning almost £15m a season when including bonuses and other payments.

The same outlet claims the deal will be worth a minimum of £10m a year, meaning his weekly wage will end up somewhere between £192k and £288k.

At the time, Fabrizio Romano added that the deal would be a five-year contract, tying the winger down to 2028.

Saka has been one of Arsenal’s Players of the Season in 2022/23, and he’s a regular fixture in all of the Premier League Teams of the Year going around at the moment.

The 21-year-old has 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, and you’d imagine this is just the start for his Arsenal career.

After signing a new contract, the next step will be his first foray into Champions League football next season.

Throwback to Bukayo Saka’s last new contract with Arsenal
