Pablo Mari made another start for AC Monza against Torino at the weekend, his 26th of the season for the Italian side, but it didn’t last long.

Within just six minutes, the centre-back was forced off with a hip injury.

FootballNews24.it report that Mari suffered a severe contusion to the hip, and his recovery time is expected to be between 10 and 15 days.

Barring better news in the coming days, that would mean Mari missing Monza’s matches against Serie A champions Napoli (May 14th) and Sassuolo (May 19th).

But the Serie A campaign carries on all the way into June, so Mari may yet still play against Lecce (May 28th) and Atalanta (June 4th) before the season ends.

Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Arsenal are set to receive £6m for Mari, with his loan transfer to Monza being made permanent.

Personal terms have reportedly already been agreed, and Romano described the deal as “done and sealed”.

Monza had an obligation to buy Mari in their loan deal from Arsenal, depending on certain conditions.

One of those was widely reported to be that Monza avoid relegation, and the club have now mathematically secured their status as a Serie A club for another season.

Another condition was that Mari played a certain number of games, and it appears he’s also hit that target.
