Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are set to receive £6m for Pablo Mari, as his loan transfer to Serie A side AC Monza is made permanent.

Personal terms have reportedly already been agreed, and Romano describes the deal as “done and sealed”.

Monza had an obligation to buy Mari in their loan deal from Arsenal, depending on certain conditions.

One of those was widely reported to be that Monza avoid relegation, and the club have now mathematically secured their status as a Serie A club for another season.

Another condition was that Mari played a certain number of games, and it appears he’s also hit that target.

Despite an injury in August and his surgery on a stab wound in October, Mari actually hasn’t missed too many matches for Monza this season.

He’s already up to 27 appearances, with five further games still to play.

With the conditions of Mari’s permanent transfer seemingly fulfilled, the only thing that could have held up a deal would have been the player failing to agree personal terms with his new club.

Given Romano’s update that terms have already been agreed, it seems there’s nothing stopping a deal at this stage.
