Posting on Instagram on Wednesday, Arsenal youth forward Kaleel Green confirmed that he’s leaving the Gunners this summer.

“I am saddened to say that my time at Arsenal has come to an end,” Green said.

“It’s been an amazing 2 years with this club having the privilege to play alongside outstanding players and coaching staff, and I just want to say thank you and best wishes for the future.”

Green joined Arsenal in April 2021 after a spell with Southampton’s academy, quickly integrating into the u18 squad and making his debut against Leicester City u18s later that same month.

The teenager found his first full season a bit more difficult, struggling for minutes until the very end of the campaign, but he started to feature in the squad more often in 2022/23.

Green finally made his first u18 Premier League start back in September, marking the occasion with a goal in a 4-4 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

But that was one of just two starts he made in the league this season, amid competition for a place up front from the likes of Omari Benjamin and Ethan Nwaneri.

Green spent time training with the Arsenal first team in February, and he’ll certainly take plenty of experience with him to his next club. The move was probably necessary for him to feature more regularly on the pitch.

Goalkeeper Alex Kovacevic is also set to leave Arsenal this summer.
