Arsenal youth winger Joel Ideho has been out of action for the young Gunners since sustaining an ankle injury in training back in March.

Ideho last featured for the Arsenal u21s against Crystal Palace on March 17th, missing a number of matches before returning to training in April.

The youngster was then invited to a training camp with the Nigeria u20s as they stepped up their preparation for the summer World Cup.

But after joining up with the Nigeria side, he has been forced to pull out of the squad with the same ankle problem as before.

All Nigeria Soccer report that Ideho won’t now be heading to Argentina with the Nigeria u20s, as he hasn’t sufficiently recovered from his ankle problem.

Arsenal have informed the player that he’s free to spend time with his family in the Netherlands, as there’s no point immediately returning to London given his fitness status.

Arsenal play their final game of the u21 campaign against Manchester City on Saturday, and Ideho won’t be available to feature in that match either way. He may as well begin his holiday early, rest up and recover.

Ideho had made himself a starter leading up to his injury, making the starting lineup in five consecutive fixtures in all competitions – his longest run in the team all season.

The former Ajax youngster scored six goals for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
