Moises Caicedo could leave Brighton this summer, but he doesn’t have an agreement with his current club and an imminent decision is reportedly unlikely.
David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that there’s no agreement in place for Moises Caicedo to leave Brighton this summer. Such a deal could materialise, but any firm decision is unlikely to be made until the campaign ends.
The Daily Mail recently reported that Declan Rice remains Arsenal’s top-priority target for the summer transfer window. But West Ham United are currently looking for £100m, which could prove to be a stumbling block.
It’s possible Arsenal could turn to other targets, and Mokbel reports that Brighton’s Moises Caicedo is also of interest, along with Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.
We know Arsenal made a £70m move for the Brighton midfielder in the winter window, and at the time they were reportedly hoping to sign both Caicedo in January and Rice in the summer.
The suggestion now is that they may only be looking to sign one or the other, but clearly, Caicedo is someone Arsenal rate highly.
Caicedo has extended his Brighton contract to 2027, so the south coast club are in a strong position with regards to a potential sale. It seems we’re unlikely to know any more about a transfer until the end of the month.
