Arsenal are tracking Dinamo Zagreb defender Josip Sutalo, who could be available for £18m this summer.
The Evening Standard report that Arsenal are targeting a new centre-back this summer, and they’re looking at Croatian defender Josip Sutalo as a potential option.
Sutalo is expected to leave Dinamo Zagreb this summer, with his club likely to demand around £18m, according to the report.
Arsenal are yet to hold any formal talks over the transfer, but they’ve been scouting the player as they consider their options.
The Standard’s claims follow similar reports from other sources that Arsenal have been following Sutalo for at least six months now.
Other clubs on Sutalo’s case include Fiorentina, Leipzig, Fulham, Wolfsburg, and Manchester United.
Sutalo has made 32 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb this season, helping them to keep 10 clean sheets.
That includes a clean sheet against Chelsea in the Champions League, though Dinamo ended up exiting the competition in the group stage.
As well as his club form, Sutalo has also started to break into his national team’s side. The 23-year-old is up to six international appearances since his debut last summer, and he was taken to the World Cup – featuring in the third-place play-off.
Since the winter tournament, Sutalo has started both of Croatia’s subsequent games, so it looks like he’s now broken into the lineup.
Sutalo isn’t Arsenal’s only option at the back, with reports also linking the Gunners to Marc Guehi, among others.
