Arsenal’s interest in Valencia’s Yunus Musah is reportedly growing, with the North London club said to be preparing a record-breaking £70 million bid for the American midfielder which would bring Arsenal’s proposed spending on midfielders alone this summer to somewhere in the region of £750m.

Musah has been one of Valencia’s standout performers over the past couple of seasons, earning him attention from several top European clubs. The Gunners now face competition from the likes of Liverpool and Inter Milan for the talented 20-year-old.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s Spanish head coach, has identified Musah as a primary midfield target, particularly if a deal for West Ham’s Declan Rice fails to materialise. Arteta believes the American’s playing style is well-suited to his own tactical philosophy, and sees him as a vital piece in rebuilding the midfield at the Emirates Stadium.

Valencia, who have unexpectedly found themselves in a relegation battle this season, are yet to receive an official offer for Musah.

The club’s future and the fate of many of their players, including Musah, could be determined in the coming weeks as they attempt to stave off the drop to the Second Division.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Valencia, Musah remains in high demand, with Liverpool and Inter Milan also preparing their own bids to secure the midfielder’s services.

Musah, who has dual nationality with the United States and England, has already made an impact on the international stage.

The young midfielder has earned several caps for the US national team, showcasing his talent and ability to perform at the highest level.

His performances for Valencia have also caught the attention of the wider footballing world, making him one of the most sought-after talents.

Musah’s potential arrival would provide a significant boost to Arsenal’s midfield options, as Arteta continues to reshape his squad for the upcoming season.
