Ryan Gravenberch is seriously questioning his future at Bayern Munich, with Arsenal following his situation carefully.
Santi Aouna reports for FootMercato that Ryan Gravenberch is seriously questioning his future at Bayern Munich, after limited minutes this season and seemingly no change under the management of new boss Thomas Tuchel.
Arsenal are reportedly following the case carefully, though they’re yet to make a move for the midfielder. Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested.
According to the report, Gravenberch will ask to leave in the summer if he doesn’t get the minutes he wants between now and then.
Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg also reported recently that Arsenal were keeping a close eye on Gravenberch’s situation.
Gravenberch has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, but that’s only brought him to a total of 701 minutes on the pitch.
Playing an average of 27 minutes per appearance, it’s not hard to see why the 20-year-old might feel he’s going to find it difficult to get going at Bayern.
Tuchel has now been in charge at Bayern for four games, playing Gravenberch in two of them.
Both appearances came late in games, off the bench, and he didn’t play at all in Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday.
A Dutch international with 11 caps who played 42 times for Ajax last season, Gravenberch is a lot more experienced than your average 20-year-old footballer. That’s likely contributing to his current frustrations.
Another move just a year after joining Bayern doesn’t seem too improbable as it stands.
