A difficult season for the Gabonese star

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has had a challenging season at Chelsea, following his move from FC Barcelona last summer.

The Gabonese forward’s transfer to the London club was initiated by Thomas Tuchel, despite CEO Todd Boehly’s reluctance to bring him onboard.

Struggling for a place in Lampard’s plans

With three coaches providing little support, Aubameyang now faces the task of convincing current interim Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, he’s worth a spot in the starting eleven.

However, the abundance of talent within Chelsea’s squad makes this an uphill battle for the forward.

Aubameyang’s desire to return to Barcelona

Aubameyang is determined to return to regular playing time, in hopes of attracting a club that will invest in him during the summer transfer window.

His ultimate goal is to make his way back to FC Barcelona and he’s reportedly prepared to make significant financial sacrifices to fit into the club’s salary structure, just as he did the first time.

Barcelona’s potential interest and Chelsea’s demands

To secure a move back to the Camp Nou, Aubameyang wants assurance that Barcelona will commit to him in the upcoming transfer market.

Chelsea, however, will not make it easy for him to return to the Catalan club, as they seek to recoup the €15 million they spent on his transfer.
