Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow as they look to improve their squad during the next transfer window.

Reports suggest that the Gunners could secure the talented midfielder at a bargain price, thanks to the time remaining on his contract.

Eintracht Frankfurt open to Sow’s departure

It appears that Eintracht Frankfurt are willing to let Sow leave the club this summer, as they do not want to risk losing him for free when his contract expires in 2024.

The 26-year-old Swiss international is reportedly seeking a new challenge, and Arsenal are said to be the ‘ideal destination’ for him.

Bargain price for Arsenal target

Despite having a €35m release clause, Sow could change clubs for just €15m due to his expiring deal.

This lower price could reportedly place Arsenal in an advantageous position to seal a deal in the upcoming transfer window, allowing them to offer Sow a larger personal financial package.

Failed Nottingham Forest bid and agent’s statement

Last summer, Nottingham Forest tried to secure Sow’s services, but the midfielder opted to stay with Eintracht Frankfurt to play in the Champions League. His agent, Jose Nogueira Rodriguez, recently revealed that a move could be possible in the summer of 2023 if a suitable offer is made for both the player and the club.
