Speaking to MilanNews.it, Milan journalist Carlo Pellegatti reported that the Serie A club will start negotiations to sign Brahim Diaz this summer, before adding that we should “keep an eye on Arteta’s Arsenal”.

MilanNews report that Arsenal are very interested in Diaz, and they could look to outbid Milan for the permanent signing this summer.

Largely playing an attacking midfield role for Milan this season, Diaz has six goals and three assists from his 35 appearances for the side.

He’s helped his side up to fourth in Serie A, as well as on the verge of a Champions League semi-final.

Milan are 1-0 up against Napoli after the quarter-final first leg, with Diaz playing 80 minutes of the home fixture.

Despite still being contracted to Real Madrid, Diaz has now spent three seasons with Milan over the course of two loan spells. He initially joined in 2020, before returning for another two-year loan in 2021.

The Spanish international also played for Manchester City before joining Madrid, making 15 senior appearances and bagging a couple of goals.

Still just 23, the forward has a big decision to make this summer. He only has a couple of years left on his Real Madrid contract, and it seems inevitable he’ll leave. It’s just not certain yet where he’ll end up.
