The Utrera-born midfielder’s fluctuating position at Real Madrid

Dani Ceballos has been a subject of much discussion at Chamartín.

The Real Madrid midfielder’s contract is set to expire on June 30, and he has not yet renewed despite, with reports of an offer on the table seemingly inaccurate.

Speculation about Ceballos’ departure from Santiago Bernabéu has grown since the beginning of the campaign, with neither the fans nor the club’s management seemingly counting on the Utrera native for next season.

However, after gaining the trust of Carlo Ancelotti, the situation has undergone a complete turnaround, with the Andalusian midfielder being applauded on several occasions at home games with fans calling for his renewal.

Now, the Ceballos case has become complicated once again.

Despite giving Ceballos a chance by granting him ample playing time, Ancelotti has also been responsible for sidelining him.

The Italian coach has even left Ceballos out of crucial matches like ‘El Clásico’ in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals.

Additionally, the midfielder has not seen the desired playing time in other high-profile games, such as the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Liverpool, where he played only eight minutes.

Spain call-up gives Ceballos an opportunity to prove his worth

Despite the uncertainty, there is still hope for Dani Ceballos.

His recent call-up by Luis De La Fuente to join Spain’s national team for international commitments offers him a chance to showcase his talent.

Ceballos is expected to play a significant role with the national team, and if he performs well, Real Madrid may reconsider renewing his contract.
