Julian Brandt is a target for Arsenal and a summer transfer to the Gunners is definitely an option, according to a report.

Speaking to WettFreunde, Gianluca Di Marzio claimed it’s “definitely an option” that Julian Brandt could move to Arsenal this summer.

The journalist confirmed that Brandt is a target for the Gunners, and they’re watching him closely. However, he added that though the player is “definitely on [Arsenal’s] list”, he’s “not 100% sure” whether they’ll go for him now.

Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Arsenal have always been tracking Brandt, but Borussia Dortmund haven’t made a decision on the 26-year-old’s future and the Gunners haven’t finalised a plan for the summer yet.

Christian Falk added that Arsenal are now more interested than ever before, and Brandt has long dreamed of making a Premier League move.

But Falk claims Tottenham Hotspur have also shown an interest in Brandt, and Dortmund could even still push to keep the German international.

With a contract until 2024, this could be the right time for Arsenal to make their move.

German outlet Bild recently wrote that Arsenal were one of the clubs after Brandt, adding that he’s informed those close to him that he’d like a move.

But on the other side, Dortmund are willing to offer him a new deal.

Plenty of reports have linked Arsenal with Brandt in recent years, with David Ornstein writing in late 2020 that the Gunners had considered a move for the player.

But at the time, Brandt was going through a bit of a dip in form, only scoring four times and assisting twice in 2020/21. Dortmund were also unwilling to sell in the middle of the season.

The versatile midfielder/winger went on to provide 19 goal contributions in 2021/22 and 14 so far in 2022/23, so he seems to be recapturing the form that drew Arsenal’s attention in the first place.
