Jorginho has been speaking to the media this week on everything from his dinner with Granit Xhaka to supporting AC Milan against Spurs.

Arsenal’s January signing Jorginho has started to win some fans over in recent days, following his move from London rivals Chelsea.

With strong performances against Manchester City and Aston Villa, and the part he played in the winning goal against the latter, Jorginho has settled into the Arsenal starting lineup well so far.

The midfielder has also been settling in behind the scenes, with recent reports revealing he’s moved house to be closer to London Colney, and he’s been out for a meal with new teammate Granit Xhaka.

Jorginho told beIN SPORTS how that night out came about.

“I asked him the other day where I could go for dinner around here, and he booked me and didn’t let me pay,” Jorginho said.

“I was like ‘okay, thank you very much for that!’ So yeah, he’s a really, really nice guy and I’m glad that I can see this other part of him (away from the pitch).”

The 31-year-old also endeared himself to Arsenal fans in an interview in the Italian media, discussing Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League tie against AC Milan.

“Forza Milan!” Jorginho said when asked about the tie. “I am sure all Arsenal fans will support Milan.”

But the most important thing Jorginho has talked about this week is probably his and his family’s excitement about him playing for Arsenal.

“When I told [my family] about the move to Arsenal they were really excited,” Jorginho said. “Arsenal is a big, big club and the moment the club is living now is really good.

“It’s a good opportunity for me to have a new challenge at this age. They said they were very excited for me, and I’m very excited personally too!

“I really like the way the team is playing, the work that is being done, and what we are doing here is very exciting.

“I’ve looked (at Arsenal) for a long time, to be honest, and thought what they were doing is just amazing.”

For a player now in his thirties, it’s important Jorginho still has the motivation to keep pushing himself and his teammates, and it certainly sounds like he does.

Now he needs to keep showing it on the pitch as Arsenal look to achieve their goals this season.
