Speaking to the media, Manuel Sierra believes that Brighton have denied Caicedo the “dream of his whole life” by rejecting two bids from the Gunners.

Sierra told Marca90Ec: “The offers were received, you see what is on the table and Moises says that he wants to go forward, that it is the dream of his whole life. That it is an opportunity that may not be repeated in life.”

The 21-year-old attempted to force a move to Arsenal with a statement on Instagram, which was helped drafted by Sierra.

In the statement, Caicedo expressed his gratitude to Brighton for giving him the opportunity to play in the Premier League but also his desire to fulfil his dream of playing for Arsenal.

Sierra commented on the statement, saying: “We helped draft the statement. In that statement he expresses his wish and his gratitude to the club because they gave him the chance to fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League.”

After the failed transfer, Caicedo was told to stay away from training and was not involved in Brighton’s FA Cup win against Liverpool, but he is now back training and playing with the club.

Brighton’s head coach Roberto De Zerbi played a crucial role in keeping Caicedo at the club, despite publicly stating that the team was ready to move on without the midfielder.

It is believed that in private, De Zerbi emphasised the importance of Caicedo to the team and reinforced the need to keep him.

In the end, the transfer saga was a disappointment for Moises Caicedo, his agent, and for Arsenal but Caicedo’s return to the fold with Brighton offers hope that he may still get his chance to fulfil his dream in the near future.
