Beth Mead, Arsenal’s England forward, has been recognised for her exceptional performance in the past year with a place on the shortlist for FIFA’s Best FIFA Women’s Player award.

Beth Mead has made the shortlist for FIFA’s Best FIFA Women’s Player award, along with American forward Alex Morgan and Spanish midfielder Alexia Putellas.

Mead’s impressive displays as the top scorer and Player of the Tournament at Euro 2022, which the Lionesses won on home soil, have earned her a spot in the running for the award.

Lionel Messi, the World Cup-winning captain of Argentina, is up for the Best FIFA Men’s Player award, alongside French duo Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema, last year’s winner.

The award nominees also include Brazilian forward Richarlison, who has been shortlisted for FIFA’s Best Goal Puskas Award for his effort against Serbia during the group stages of the World Cup.

Marseille’s Dimitri Payet and Polish amputee footballer Marcin Oleksy are also among the nominees.

Despite recovering from a serious knee injury, Beth Mead continues to make headlines and inspire young female footballers.

Her inclusion in the shortlist for FIFA’s annual player awards is a testament to her talent, hard work, and commitment to the sport.
