Arsenal are reportedly facing tough competition for the transfer of Moises Caicedo this summer as Liverpool become unexpected contenders for the Brighton player.
Last month, the 21-year-old Ecuadorian international took to social media to plead with Brighton to allow him to join Arsenal.
Despite the Gunners making a number of bids, including one for £70 million, they were all rejected by Brighton.
Caicedo’s agent, Manuel Sierra criticised Brighton for denying his client’s dream move.
Chelsea were also interested in the player whom Graham Potter had previously signed while at Brighton.
However, Liverpool have now emerged as an interested party in the race to sign the player.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be seeking reinforcements for the midfield, with journalist Ben Jacobs stating that Liverpool could be considered the “dark horses” in the chase, as Arsenal have also set their sights on West Ham’s Declan Rice.
Since joining Brighton from Independiente del Valle for £5m two years ago, Caicedo has been making waves in the Premier League, impressing under both Graham Potter and Roberto De Zerbi.
