Fabrizio Romano shared a leaked picture of Jorginho wearing an Arsenal shirt ahead of the Gunners’ official confirmation of the midfielder’s move from Chelsea on Tuesday afternoon.

As seen above, the player is standing alongside his agent, Joao Santos, and his tracksuit bottoms reveal the number 20 – rumoured to be his new shirt number even before the leak.

David Ornstein reports that the Jorginho transfer has gone down very well with Arsenal internally, from the squad to the staff.

The feeling in the Arsenal camp is that the midfielder brings technical ability, tactical understanding, and an experience level ideal for a title challenge.

Arsenal agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Jorginho on deadline day, with the Gunners paying £12m for the Italian international, £10m upfront and £2m in add-ons.

Jorginho has signed a contract to 2024, with the option to extend by a further year and personal terms already in place. He’s also undergone a medical at London Colney.

Mikel Arteta is reportedly a big fan of the player, which is unsurprising given Arsenal’s previous attempt to sign him from Chelsea.

Jorginho had made 25 appearances for Chelsea this season, including captaining the side on a number of occasions.
