Burton left Arsenal for Zagreb on a permanent deal in 2020.

At the time, sources suggested to Daily Cannon the midfielder would be open to a potential return in the future, so there’s little doubt he left the club on good terms.

Now he’s available again, however, it seems highly unlikely the club will make a move for him given he hasn’t pushed on as many would have hoped.

During his time in Zagreb, Burton was sent on two loans (NK Istra 1961 (Croatia) and Sligo Rovers (Republic of Ireland)) where he played a total of 15 times, assisting one.

When he returned from his loan with Sligo this month, a decision was made to terminate his contract, considering he has made just 17 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb.

Burton signed for Arsenal when he was just six and went on to captain the u23s for the 19/20 season.

He never made a senior appearance for the club.
