Hector Bellerin has reportedly turned down a move to Everton even though his Barcelona adventure is not really panning out how he would have liked.

Hector Bellerin signed a 12-month contract with his childhood club during the summer but has played only 494 minutes for Barcelona.

Since the start of December, there have been rumours that Bellerin would be sold by Barcelona in the January window. The player, however, would quite like a new deal despite the interest of Real Betis, where he enjoyed an excellent loan spell last season.

Still only 27, Bellerin would have no shortage of suitors should he decide to leave Barcelona after only half a season. Amongst the crowd is Frank Lamapard’s Everton, who already count former Gunner, Alex Iwobi among their ranks.

Bellerin, however, is not interested according to Sport in Spain, with the defender not wanting to return to England.

According to the report, Bellerin considers his time in England ‘finished’.

Added to that, Barcelona are in no real position to replace him this month, despite what they might want to do, so the player will remain with them, at least until the summer when he becomes a free agent.

Bellerin joined Arsenal’s youth academy in 2011 from Barcelona and made his professional debut for the club in 2013. He quickly established himself as a regular starter for the team and was known for his speed, crossing ability, and technical skills on the ball, as well as making overlapping runs to provide width to the team’s attack.

In January 2020, Bellerin suffered a serious knee injury, which ruled him out for the rest of the 2019-20 season and he has struggled to reach the same form he showed before his ACL blew.
