Real Betis still want to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid but in order to do so they will need to sell one or two of their bigger named players, both of whom have been linked with Arsenal.

Real Betis will apparently have to sell William Carvalho or even possibly Nabil Fekir if they want to bring Dani Ceballos back to the club, according to a report from Spain.

Whether Arsenal still hold any interest in Carvalho (30) or Fekir (29) is not clear but seems unlikely. They were recently linked with a January move for Carvalho, but that rumour never really seemed to get off the ground.

Ceballos, who did little during his loan spell with Arsenal, is out of contract in the summer with Real Madrid and while Betis are hoping to sign him for free in the summer, his wages will offer another problem to be solved.

Betis are also keen to bring back Hector Bellerin who enjoyed a great loan spell with his father’s boyhood club last season.

They may not be able to afford to do both these things, however, and certainly look like they will have a choice to make.

Bellerin signed a one-year deal with Barcelona in order to allow Betis the time to sort out their finances so he could join in 2023.

At least, that was the plan. How it develops from here, however, is not clear.

Bellerin recently spoke about wanting to renew with Barcelona while Roma are being strongly linked with a move for the defender.
