Before Brazil crashed out of the World Cup, they saw two of their strikers have to leave the tournament with injury.

Gabriel Jesus’s knee problem was by far the worst of the lot, but the hamstring injury picked up by Richarlison is set to keep him out of action for five-to-six weeks.

Arsenal travel to Tottenham on 15 January, a little under four weeks’ time.

Richarlison has played 10 times against Arsenal, winning five and losing four, although he has only scored in one of those wins.

He has scored two goals against Arsenal, with two assists, although it somehow feels like he’s netted a lot more against us.

The 25-year-old former Everton man has two goals this season for Tottenham from 15 games, as well as three assists, averaging just over 50 minutes-per-game for them.

Signing for Tottenham in the summer for €58m, Richarlison has yet to score in the Premier League for Spurs.

To contrast, Eddie Nketiah, who didn’t cost €58m, has scored three goals this season despite averaging under 40 minutes per game.

He also hasn’t scored in the Premier League this season, but he’s only played 141 minutes.
