After months of being linked with him, Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal worth around £40m to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Nicknamed the ‘Ukrainian Neymar’, Arsenal have been the leading suitors for Shahktar Donetsk’s 21-year-old winger throughout this saga.
With 10 goals and eight assists in 24 games this season, it’s not hard to see why so many clubs have been linked with him, nor why Shakhtar thought they could push for €90m despite him only having a real-world value of around €15m.
According to the Mirror, via a report in the Daily Mail, however, Arsenal have apparently agreed a deal in the region of €40m thanks to the work Edu put in.
Last week it was reported that Mudryk had ‘his heart set on a move to’ Arsenal (as does Youri Tielemans).
It has also been claimed that he is keen to team-up with his national teammate, Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The £40m fee will come with add-ons although it is not clear what those are at this point.
Arsenal are also said to be trying to sign a left-sided centreback and a midfielder in the January window.
