For the second match in a row, Ovie Ejeheri saved a penalty and won the Man of the Match award for Chelmsford City on Saturday.

Arsenal loan goalkeeper Ovie Ejeheri has been in the form of his young career throughout the last month, returning from injury to keep four clean sheets in four games for National League South side Chelmsford City.

It’s not as if Ejeheri hasn’t faced stern tests during that period. Just over a week ago, we wrote about the goalkeeper’s penalty save and Man of the Match performance against Farnborough.

Back in the team this weekend – after he got a rest for Chelmsford’s cup game last Saturday – Ejeheri managed to repeat the trick.

Chelmsford conceded a penalty just before the half-time break at 0-0, a potentially game-changing moment. But just as he did in his last appearance, Ejeheri stood tall to save the spot-kick.

Ejeheri managed to keep the scores level until the final three minutes, when Chelmsford finally broke the deadlock with a couple of goals to win the match.

19-year-old Ejeheri even had time for another big save in injury time, and it was little surprise when the Chelmsford fans voted him their Man of the Match after the game once again.

The goalkeeper now has six clean sheets and just two goals conceded in eight games, versus the six goals Chelmsford conceded in the five matches he didn’t play.
