Gabriel Jesus has been spotted on the way to Leeds ahead of Arsenal’s game against Leeds United, amid the doubts surrounding his fitness.

Gabriel Jesus has been the subject of plenty of speculation this week, after missing Arsenal’s trip to Norway to face FK Bodo/Glimt on Thursday. But it looks like the Brazilian is now with the squad in Leeds.

One Arsenal fan managed to snap a photo of Jesus in his Arsenal gear on the platform in Stevenage, which is the first stop on the direct line between London and Leeds.

It seems that’s where the squad were grabbing the train from to get to the game.

Throughout the week, the general consensus in the media was that Jesus would be available to face Leeds.

Goal reported that Jesus was expected to return to action for the game, and they were far from the first. Simon Collings reported that the player was simply rested on Thursday, and David Ornstein said he imagined Jesus would start on Sunday.

Yet Mikel Arteta cast some doubt on those claims in his latest press conference.

“I don’t know (if Jesus will be available), obviously he has some discomfort after the game against Liverpool,” Arteta said.

“That’s why we decided not to bring him in [to Norway], so let’s see how he is tomorrow and Saturday.”

There was then some further doubt cast on Jesus’ availability with the news that 19-year-old striker Khayon Edwards was called up to the first-team squad. Edwards had replaced Jesus in the Europa League squad on Thursday.

But Arsenal do still have a couple of other injury absentees, and Arteta often takes an extra player to away games. Edwards’ inclusion didn’t necessarily have anything to do with Jesus’ fitness.

So it seems, with Jesus apparently joining the squad for the game. We’ll find out soon enough whether he’s fit enough to start.
