Conflicting reports make it unclear whether or not Arsenal are in negotiations to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk, but it seems they’re at least interested.

Abdellah Boulma reports that Mykhaylo Mudryk is in negotiations for a move to Arsenal, with a transfer fee approaching €30m and a five-year deal on the table.

Hrach Khachatryan writes that Mudryk has rejected an offer from Everton for Arsenal, but reports from elsewhere are less optimistic.

The Guardian’s Nick Ames claims Arsenal have been keeping on top of developments with Mudryk, but a move is extremely unlikely at this point.

Lorenzo Lepore reports that there’s still no contact between Arsenal and Shakhtar Donetsk over Mudryk, and Ukrainian journalist Igor Burbas says that it’s actually Brentford leading the race for the winger.

Burbas claims Brentford have put in a final bid for Mudryk, with Arsenal more likely to prioritise a replacement for Mohamed Elneny before the summer deadline. Though he adds that Mudryk does remain on Arsenal’s shortlist.

The Athletic confirm this news, reporting that Brentford are attempting a late move, but it will be a difficult deal to complete and Shakhtar are determined to keep hold of the player.

Elsewhere, Mirko Di Natale reports that Shakhtar won’t sell to anyone for less than €50m, and he repeats the claim that there’s no contact with Arsenal.

Fabrizio Romano previously reported that Mudryk is a player to keep an eye on in the final days of the transfer window, with Arsenal having explored the conditions of a deal on the player’s side a few days ago.

Many clubs are interested in the winger, and Everton have already seen a €30m verbal offer turned down by Shakhtar Donetsk.

David Ornstein confirmed for The Athletic that Mudryk is among Arsenal’s candidates for a wide-forward signing, but the Gunners are unlikely to sign both a winger and a midfielder – it will probably be one or the other.

For the time being, it seems more likely Arsenal will move for a midfielder, following Mohamed Elneny’s injury.
