Arsenal are reportedly ready to return for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio as they look to sign a winger that will allow them to send Marquinhos out on loan.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio for as long as I can remember.

In fact, when I searched the archives of this site, we have articles going back five years. Had we not lost the first eight years of this site’s content during a server move, I’ve no doubt they would go back even further.

Over the summer, however, there weren’t that many reports but now, a website from Spain claims Arsenal will make a move in January.

Many Arsenal fans might have been hoping that the role in the first team that was vacated when Nicolas Pepe was sent on loan would be filled by Marquinhos but it is believed that the club will send him out on loan in January for more minutes than he would get this season with Arsenal.

Asensio, now 26, has under 12 months left on his current Real Madrid contract.

This season, he has seen just 17 minutes of action for Real Madrid, with seven of those coming in La Liga.
