Ryan Taylor reports that Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is flying to Istanbul today for his medical with Galatasaray ahead of a permanent transfer.

The deal is worth up to £7.5m including bonuses, which have all been agreed between Arsenal and the Turkish club.

Fabrizio Romano had reported earlier in the day that Arsenal were still waiting for Torreira to make a decision on the Galatasaray proposal, which they were prepared to accept.

Matteo Moretto wrote on Monday that the signing is imminent, with only minor details remaining. Though he stressed that it’s not quite done yet.

Di Marzio reported last week that Sampdoria’s dream move would be to bring back Torreira this summer. But while they delayed, Galatasaray submitted an acceptable offer to Arsenal.

Sampdoria were hoping to raise funds for a move with the sale of Mikkel Damsgaard to Brentford.

Torreira has a year left on his Arsenal deal, and despite being called back for pre-season with the Gunners, he left the U.S. tour early to travel to Italy and hasn’t played a game since.

That trip to Italy doesn’t appear to have been particularly fruitful, at least not on the transfer front. The midfielder is heading for Turkey instead.
