Emile Smith Rowe, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Fabio Vieira are all back in full training, with two of the three hoping to make this weekend’s squad.

The Evening Standard report that injured Arsenal stars Emile Smith Rowe, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Fabio Vieira have all been taking part in training with the first team this week.

Tomiyasu and Smith Rowe are both hoping to be in the squad for the match against Leicester City on Saturday, but Vieira currently looks likely to struggle to be available for that game.

Arsenal are being very careful with Vieira’s foot injury, slowly increasing the intensity of his workouts, and they won’t want to risk his progress by rushing him into the squad.

With Ben White spotted in a knee brace in training this week and Tomiyasu returning to first-team sessions, you wonder how long it might be until the Japan international breaks back into the lineup for Arsenal.

Tomiyasu played for the Arsenal u21s last weekend, but he only completed 45 minutes before a pre-planned half-time change. Whether he’s ready for a Premier League start is unclear, but unlikely at this stage.

The right-back will probably start out on the bench for Mikel Arteta’s side, coming on as a substitute until he’s ready for more.

As for Smith Rowe, there’s no real rush for Arsenal to put him back in the team while Gabriel Martinelli is performing well. The pressure is off at the moment, so he can take the opportunity to ease himself back at his own pace.
