Ben White has been spotted wearing a knee brace in training with Arsenal, though he appears to be playing a normal part in squad sessions.

Arsenal defender Ben White has had some injury problems in the last few months, starting at the end of last season.

White missed consecutive games against West Ham and Leeds United in early May, and he wasn’t fit to start the North London derby after that.

Though he returned to the pitch against Newcastle United, White was then left on the bench against Everton and withdrew from international duty. That was followed by a reduced pre-season, as he missed the opening games of the tour.

Since then, it seemed like the defender was doing better. He played the final few games of pre-season and started against Crystal Palace on Friday, completing the full 90 minutes.

Yet White could be spotted in training photos on Tuesday wearing a knee brace.

Though this obviously raises some concerns, it’s good that the problem isn’t yet deemed serious enough to require White to withdraw from training.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is also back in training after his u21 appearance at the weekend, which should help to ease the burden on White.

With any luck, the brace will turn out just to be a precaution. It’s just something to keep an eye on.
