FC Barcelona have asked Hector Bellerin to wait for them until the end of the window, offering him an annual salary of €5m net.

Spanish outlet Sport report that Barcelona have requested Hector Bellerin wait for them until the end of the transfer window, as he’s their most viable option for a signing at right-back.

Gerard Romero reports that any Barcelona move for Bellerin would be a free transfer, and he’d receive a net salary of €5m.

Romero had previously claimed there’s a growing feeling that Arsenal defender Bellerin will join the La Liga club in the final days of the window, with the chances of a move increasing.

Marca wrote that Bellerin is one of the options Barcelona are considering, making enquiries in recent days. He’d be cheaper than alternative options like Juan Foyth and Thomas Meunier.

There were also recent reports from Italy that Udinese are trying to replace right-back Brandon Soppy with Bellerin, though that deal isn’t looking particularly likely right now.

Bellerin wants to return to Spain, and he’s been offered to Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, but previous reports suggested his favoured option is Betis.

Perhaps Romero’s latest update suggests that is starting to change, with Barcelona taking the lead for the transfer.

The suggestion is that the Spanish teams aren’t actually willing to pay a transfer fee for Bellerin, which is the main issue at the moment.

They want him for free, which is why they want to wait until the end of the window, to try and secure that deal.
