A Premier League club has reportedly been in contact with Villarreal for Yeremy Pino, with Arsenal linked to the young winger.

Spanish outlet AS report that a Premier League club have made contact with Villarreal over Yeremy Pino, sending more than just an expression of interest to the Villarreal offices.

The move is reportedly giving the La Liga club cause to assess Pino’s situation, though they’re only willing to sell him for a significant offer, and he has a release clause of €80m.

The identity of the English club isn’t confirmed, but AS add that Arsenal and Liverpool have shown an interest.

Arsenal fans have also spotted a couple of social media signs that their club could be after Pino.

For a start, Edu Gaspar followed ICM Stellar Sports Spain on Instagram earlier this month, the agency representing Pino. Then there’s the fact he’s currently in Valencia, according to his wife’s Instagram, less than an hour’s drive from Villarreal.

None of this is at all conclusive. Edu could just be on holiday, he might have followed the agency for another player or for a reason unrelated to a new signing, and the AS report could turn out to be about a different Premier League club.

But the signs certainly suggest it’s possible Arsenal are after Pino, and David Ornstein recently confirmed the club are still looking to bring in a winger if they can.

Pino scored seven goals and assisted four for Villarreal last season, pushing into the Spain squad. He scored one and assisted one in his first four international appearances, which combined to make just 178 minutes on the pitch.
