Arsenal are ready to accept an offer to sell Lucas Torreira to Galatasaray if the player agrees, following previous transfer links to Sampdoria.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal have received an offer to sell Lucas Torreira to Galatasaray. They’re prepared to accept, but they’re currently waiting for the player to agree on personal terms.

Matteo Moretto confirms the news, writing that the signing is imminent, with only minor details remaining. Though he stresses that it’s not quite done yet.

The Turkish media suggest the deal will go through for around €7m, including bonuses.

Local Sampdoria outlet Club Doria 46 had reported that Sampdoria were dreaming of re-signing Lucas Torreira from Arsenal this summer, but the Gunners aren’t interested in loaning the midfielder or letting him leave on a free transfer.

Instead, Arsenal were demanding a fee of close to €8m for the player they bought for up to €30m four years ago.

At the moment, Sampdoria don’t have that kind of money. However, they could raise it with the sale of Mikkel Damsgaard to Brentford, so Arsenal’s valuation didn’t completely rule the Serie A club out of the race.

But while Sampdoria delayed, Galatasaray seemingly stole a march on them.

Di Marzio reported last week that whilst Sampdoria are also negotiating with AS Roma for Gonzalo Villar, their dream move would be to bring back Torreira.

Torreira has a year left on his Arsenal deal, and despite being called back for pre-season with the Gunners, he left the U.S. tour early to travel to Italy and hasn’t played a game since.
