Pedro Neto isn’t Arsenal’s only option for a summer signing on the wing, with the likes of Moussa Diaby also on the club’s shortlist.

With Nicolas Pepe on the way out, Arsenal are on the hunt for a replacement in the final week of the transfer window.

Pedro Neto is reportedly the club’s priority signing, but he’s not the only option for the Gunners.

Fabrizio Romano claims Moussa Diaby is another winger they love at Arsenal, as one alternative.

Diaby isn’t currently the priority, and he isn’t an easy signing, as Bayer Leverkusen don’t want to sell. It would take a crazy bid to convince the German club to part ways with their star man, who is currently negotiating a new contract.

Yet there are evidently other options to a deal for Neto.

When David Ornstein broke the news of Arsenal’s pursuit of Neto, he reported for The Athletic that the winger was one of several candidates to come under serious consideration.

It seems Diaby is one of these candidates, but there are potentially other unnamed options that could emerge in the final days of the window.

A key thing to keep in mind is that Ornstein has been clear that Arsenal will only make an addition to the squad if they can afford it and think it is going to improve their options.

Just as in January, when Arsenal missed out on Dusan Vlahovic and didn’t sign an alternative, the Gunners won’t make a signing for the sake of it.

If they can’t land one of their top targets, they’ll save their money for a future window.
